Service: Suspension Our family has been customers of this auto repair facility for more than a decade. The service was excellent, prices fair, and the staff very kind and professional. However, it has come under new ownership, and it appears that things have changed. We recently brought our truck in to have the suspension checked. Specifically, the tie rods. The service rep cited a $70 fee to diagnose the issue. He assured us that we would be back on the road by the end of day, and to expect a call. However, there was no call. Before closing, we called and the manager said the truck had a misfire, that they would need to keep the truck overnight, and to expect a call first thing in the morning. No call. So, we called the shop and the service rep told us that a mechanic had just started working on the truck, and that he was driving about trying to "replicate the issue." Sensing something amiss, we cancelled the work request and picked up the truck. There was no misfire. They never inspected the tie rods, which still rattle. Further, while driving afterward to meet with some professors at the university, the hood flew up on I-75 and Pines Blvd. forcing me to brake hard and pull over into the emergency lane. Doral Auto Repair staff did not properly secure my hood. (Our dash cam video is compelling.) When I requested to speak with the shop's owner, the service rep said that he would pass along the message along, but we have not yet heard back. For many years, I worked as an auto mechanic and managed a large repair facility, so I understand this business; the markups, diagnoses protocols, labor charges, etc. Now a disabled senior, I am unable to move like I once did, and we were willing to pay a premium at this shop in return for work that is done ontime, correctly, and safely. It was not, and that is why our family will not return to this shop.
